Parents Protest Outside Education Commissioner’s Office; Allege Illegal Admissions Under Madrasa Guise

Date:

BENGALURU: A tense protest broke out in front of the Office of the Commissioner of the School Education Department in Bengaluru, as aggrieved parents demanded immediate and stringent action against a local educational institution. The protesters alleged that the school management is conducting unauthorized student admissions under the guise of a madrasa, in direct defiance of explicit orders passed by the State School Education Department and the Karnataka High Court.

The demonstration was spearheaded by Abdul Rahim, a parent and activist, who submitted formal complaints to the Education Commissioner, departmental directors, police officials, and the government. Protesters raised slogans accusing the management of exploiting innocent children, fabricating records, and engaging in activities that threaten the country’s internal security and communal harmony.

Key Allegations and Background
According to the protesting parents, the controversy involves Saamar International Islamic School located in Thanisandra, Bengaluru, which they claim is connected to Mumbai-based entities including Jamia Muhammadiyah Mansoora Madrasa, Jamia Mohammadia Education Society, and The Al-Jamia Mohammadiyah Mansoora Education Society.

Cancellation of Recognition: Protesters stated that following a thorough investigation by a three-member committee of the School Education Board and subsequent directives from the High Court, the school’s official recognition had already been cancelled due to grave irregularities.

Fabricated Records and Identity Fraud: It is alleged that the management submitted misleading and contradictory names for the institution while applying for renewals to deceive the Education Department.

Court Defiance & Hefty Fine: Abdul Rahim pointed out that the High Court had previously imposed a fine of ₹5 lakh on the Jamia Mohammadia Education Society for providing false information to the judiciary. Despite court orders strictly prohibiting new admissions for the upcoming academic year, the institution reportedly published admission advertisements in an Urdu daily.

Illegal Fee Collection: Parents alleged that the school is actively misleading the public, creating confusion in the name of a madrasa, admitting new students, and issuing fake fee receipts, thereby putting the academic future of hundreds of children at serious risk.
Communal Harmony Concerns: The protesters also accused the institution of uploading content on YouTube that insults Hindu deities, alleging that the management is actively fostering communal hatred, fear, and social unrest.

Demand for Action
The protestors urged the Commissioner and law enforcement agencies to intervene immediately to seal the unauthorized operations. They emphasized that institutions failing to respect the law of the land should not be allowed to operate, calling for the immediate arrest of those responsible for cheating innocent families and jeopardizing social unity.
