Demand for Political Representation: ‘Karnataka Madara Mahasabha’ Urges Appointment of K.H. Muniyappa as Deputy Chief Minister

Date:

Bengaluru : Various organizations, led by the ‘Karnataka Madara Mahasabha,’ have formally demanded fair political representation for the Madiga community within the state’s ruling Congress government. Specifically, they have urged the state leadership to appoint senior leader K.H. Muniyappa as the Deputy Chief Minister.

During a press conference held today, community leaders highlighted that K.H. Muniyappa, a veteran politician with five decades of loyal service to the party, has served seven times as a Member of Parliament and Union Minister. They argued that his extensive experience and commitment to the welfare of backward classes make him the most suitable candidate for the Deputy Chief Minister’s position.

Deputy Chief Minister Post: Appoint K.H. Muniyappa as Deputy Chief Minister and ensure ministerial positions for three other leaders from the community.

Addressing Historical Imbalance:
Expressing dissatisfaction that the Madiga community has been deprived of the Deputy Chief Minister or KPCC President posts since independence, the leaders urged the government to rectify this imbalance.

Power Sharing: A re-evaluation of political representation across the 36 reserved assembly constituencies in the state is necessary to ensure equity.

Influential Portfolios: Community leaders emphasized that current portfolio allocations have not been conducive to the community’s development and requested that influential portfolios be assigned to their representatives.

Dignitaries Present:
The press conference was held under the leadership of Sri Shivamunideshikendra Swamiji of the Adijambava Math. Other prominent participants included B.K. Shivappa, Sridhar, Narasimha Murthy K.A., Channaiah L., Prakash N.P., Manjunath P., Kishore, Madhu Sudhan N., Shivkumar, Prathap, and Muthuraj.
