Car of people returning from Goa trip collides with pickup: Two dead, three in critical condition

Joida: Two people died on the spot and three were seriously injured in a horrific road accident between a car and a pickup vehicle at around 2 am near Gavegali Cross near Tineghat on the Goa-Belagavi National Highway.

The accident occurred between a Bolero pickup vehicle carrying chickens from Khanapur to Goa and a Swift car returning from Goa to Andhra Pradesh.

According to available information, the Swift car tried to overtake the vehicle in front. At this time, it is said that it lost control and moved in the opposite direction and collided head-on with the Bolero pickup coming from the opposite direction.

The front of the Swift car was completely crushed due to the severity of the collision, and Murali and Mahesh, who were sitting in the front seat, hailing from Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh, died on the spot.

Sheikh Wali, who was in the back of the car, Kalappa Madara, who was in the Bolero pickup, and his wife Draukshini Madara were seriously injured in the accident. The injured are said to be originally residents of Vijayapura and currently residing in Goa.

With the help of locals, the injured were immediately admitted to the Ramanagara Government Hospital by 108 ambulance. Later, they were sent to the Civil Hospital in Belgaum for further treatment.

As soon as the incident came to light, Chandrashekhar Harihar, Police Inspector of Zoida Police Station, and his staff visited the spot and inspected it. Currently, a case has been registered in the Ramanagara Police Station regarding the accident and further investigation is underway.
