Bengaluru, Nov. 6:
Employees of the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) have warned that they will suspend official work across the Authority if the suspension orders issued against two Revenue Officers are not revoked immediately.
The warning was issued during a meeting convened to condemn the suspension of Dr. Basavaraju Magi and Lokamatha, Revenue Officers in the Revenue Division of the Greater Bengaluru Authority. Participants alleged that the officers were suspended without being issued a show-cause notice, without an opportunity to present their case, and without a proper inquiry, describing the action as unilateral and unscientific.
The meeting was chaired by Amruth Raj, President of the Greater Bengaluru Authority Employees’ Welfare Association. Around 80 Assistant Revenue Officers, 30 Revenue Officers, and two Deputy Commissioners of the Authority attended the meeting.
The participants held detailed discussions on the suspension orders and unanimously demanded their immediate withdrawal. They maintained that disciplinary action should follow due process and that the suspended officers must be given a fair opportunity to defend themselves.
The meeting further resolved that if the suspension orders are not revoked without delay, officers and employees from all departments of the Greater Bengaluru Authority will collectively halt official work and launch a silent protest until justice is ensured.
The Association said the proposed agitation is aimed at protecting the dignity of public servants, safeguarding employees’ service rights, and upholding fairness and transparency in administrative procedures.
