Accusation of Sand Transportation Beyond Royalty Limits and Overloaded Vehicles Causing Crores of Revenue Loss to Government
Raichur/Manvi: Allegations have emerged that sand is being transported in violation of government regulations from the stockyards of Hatti Gold Mines Company located in Modlapur and Yadial Hatti areas of Manvi taluk in Raichur district.
It is alleged that sand is being loaded into vehicles beyond the quantity permitted under the government-fixed royalty limits. Complaints have been raised that each vehicle is allegedly carrying an additional 10 to 12 tonnes of excess sand (overloading) during transportation.
The alleged illegal transportation has reportedly caused a loss of crores of rupees in revenue to the government treasury. The public has demanded a comprehensive investigation into compliance with sand transportation rules, vehicle weight limits, royalty records, and the maintenance of stockyards.
There are also demands for an inquiry into the alleged role of Hatti Gold Mines Managing Director R. Shilpa, along with Prakash, Anil Kumar, B.V. Solankar, Hemant, Akash Reddy, and other concerned contractors involved in the sand transportation operations.
Questions have been raised over whether illegal sand transportation has taken place, whether permission was granted to transport quantities beyond the approved limit, and whether there was negligence or involvement of concerned officials.
In this regard, the district administration and police department have been urged to immediately inspect the stockyards located in Modlapur and Yadial Hatti areas of Manvi taluk, verify vehicle weight records, royalty documents, and transportation details, and take strict action against those found responsible.
The public has demanded immediate measures to prevent illegal exploitation of sand, which is a public resource, and to protect government revenue.
