Meeting with Ashraf’s Family and Compensation Distribution Following Mob Lynching in Kudpadi, Mangaluru

Following the mob lynching incident in Kudpadi, Mangaluru, a meeting was held with the family members of the deceased Ashraf at the request and directive of AICC General Secretary and Kerala MP K.C. Venugopal.

Participating in the discussion were Speaker U.T. Khader, Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan, AICC General Secretary B.K. Hariprasad, Chief Minister’s Political Secretary Naseer Ahmed, Congress leader G.A. Bava, and Manjeshwar MLA A.K.M. Ashraf. The leaders met Ashraf’s family to discuss the incident and assure them of support.

During the meeting, it was decided that the government would appoint special public prosecutors to pursue the legal proceedings related to the case. There was also a discussion about providing compensation to Ashraf’s family under the provisions of the anti-mob lynching law.

As a humanitarian gesture, Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan personally contributed ₹10 lakh and Speaker U.T. Khader contributed ₹5 lakh from their personal accounts as financial assistance to Ashraf’s family.

Nasir Vengara, a Congress leader from Malappuram, was also present during the interaction with the bereaved family.
