Vijayapura: Former Krishna River Forest Director Ravi Khanapura has requested that the Mumbai-Pune Bangalore High Speed Bullet Railway Corridor project be implemented on the Vijayapura-Vijayanagar-Chitradurga-Tumkur railway routes.
Stating this, he said that the demand of this section for many years to sanction the Bangalore-Pune-Mumbai High Speed Bullet Railway Corridor has been made and he recalled that he had requested the Railway Minister and the Prime Minister before the budget. He recalled that if this project is started via Vijayapura-Vijayanagar-Tumkur route, it will not only provide fast connectivity to the states of Karnataka and Maharashtra, but also since this route and income are abundant, he has requested that this project be started via this route.
In the Union Budget 2026-27, Karnataka has been given a special contribution by focusing on high-speed bullet railway corridors between Bengaluru-Pune-Mumbai and Chennai-Bengaluru.

This will increase trade along with connectivity. Strengthening industrial and technology hubs will lead to growth and new jobs. This project will connect Karnataka with major economic hubs in the coming days. It will strengthen India’s development, he said.
