Both Houses of Parliament adjourn amid ruckus over various issues

Both houses of Parliament have been adjourned till tomorrow. Lok Sabha, adjourned amid ruckus by the opposition parties over various issues. The opposition members were demanding immediate discussion on the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor. As the House met after the third adjournment at 4 PM, opposition parties including Congress, DMK, Samajwadi Party and others started sloganeering. The Presiding Officer urged the protesting members to allow the House to function saying that the government is ready for discussion and the listed legislations should be taken up. As the noisy scene prevailed, the Chair adjourned the House till tomorrow.

    Earlier, the House witnessed three adjournments. When the House met after the first adjournment at 12 noon, the opposition members from Congress, SP, DMK and others continued with their sloganeering and trooped into the well. The Presiding Officer repeatedly appealed to the opposition members to take their seats and participate in the Zero Hour. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said, the government is ready for discussion.

   Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also echoed the same view. However the opposition members continued with their sloganeering

It also expressed grief over the loss of lives and properties in natural disasters across different states. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla congratulated ISRO and group captain Subhanshu Shukla for his successful voyage to the International Space Station. He said, a detailed discussion on this achievement will be held in the House which led to adjournment of the House till 2:00 PM.
