Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Lands in Bengaluru for a High-Level Two-Day Visit

Bengaluru, Feb 16: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh arrived at the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) Airport today to begin his two-day official visit to the tech hub. The Minister is in the city to chair a series of high-level strategic meetings and participate in key defence-related programs.

Upon his arrival via a special aircraft, he was received by a high-profile delegation of heads from India’s premier defence undertakings. The welcoming committee included Dr. Sunil (CMD, HAL), Manoj Jain (CMD, BEL), Shantanu Roy (CMD, BEML), and Madhav Rao (CMD, BDL), alongside Lieutenant General J.K. Gera and other senior military and civil officials.

Key Highlights of the Visit:

  • Strategic Reviews: The Minister is expected to review the progress of ongoing indigenous defence projects at various Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and PSU facilities.
  • Diplomatic Engagement: A major highlight includes the 6th India-France Annual Defence Dialogue, where he will meet with his French counterpart to discuss industrial cooperation and the ‘Make in India’ initiative in the aerospace sector.
  • Focus on Self-Reliance: The visit underscores the government’s commitment to Atmanirbhar Bharat, focusing on strengthening Bengaluru’s ecosystem as a global hub for defence manufacturing.

The Minister’s schedule for the next 48 hours remains packed with site visits and bilateral discussions aimed at bolstering India’s national security infrastructure
