Devadasi woman gets seat in school for daughter – officials respond

Bengaluru: A Devadasi woman in Vijayanagar district had been struggling for a year to get her daughter admitted to Morarji Desai School. A report about the mother’s struggle was broadcast on News TV. Now, CM’s Special Duty Officer Dr. K Vaishnavi and Social Welfare Department Executive Director Kantaraj have responded and got her a seat in the school.

The Devadasi woman was continuing her education, which she had stopped halfway, by educating her children as well. She had been wandering for a year without getting a seat for her daughter in class seven. As soon as the news was broadcast on News TV, CM’s Special Duty Officer Dr. K Vaishnavi and Social Welfare Department Executive Director Kantaraj immediately responded. The Devadasi woman was immediately called to Morarji Desai School and the documents related to her daughter’s admission were given.

This is a mistake that the department did not notice. Department officials have assured that they will ensure that her child’s education is not disrupted in any way.
