Bengaluru ; The Bengaluru Branch Office, organized Manak Samvad on 28 August 2025 to engage with newly inducted licensees and enhance awareness of standards, conformity assessment, and BIS’s role in ensuring quality and consumer safety.
The event began with participant registration, followed by a welcome address by Sushma Rao M, Director and Head, who emphasized the importance of industry–BIS collaboration in improving product quality and reliability. Premlata Sinha, Scientist-D/Joint Director, led a technical session covering the BIS certification process, responsibilities of licensees, updated guidelines for managing non-conformities, provisions for suspension or cancellation of licences, enhanced surveillance mechanisms, and benefits for MSMEs, including fee concessions and training opportunities.
The session also covered guidelines for Quality Control Orders (QCOs), and the use of the “Know Your Standard” tab. Licence documents were formally distributed to the new licensees, marking their entry into the BIS certification system.
The event concluded with an open floor for feedback and comments, allowing BIS to better understand industry challenges and expectations.
