Bengaluru : As part of International Women’s Day, Lions District 317F distributed 15 e-auto rickshaws to women in distress with the aim of leading a self-reliant life.
The e-auto rickshaws were handed over to the beneficiaries in a grand ceremony held at BWSSB Suvarna Bhavan.
Lions International District 317F, under the leadership of District Governor Lion Akash A. Suvarna, selected women beneficiaries who had undergone driving training with the aim of creating self-employment opportunities for women and gave them e-auto rickshaws.
Speaking on the occasion, District Governor Lion Akash A. Suvarna said that Lions organization is working for the welfare of the youth group in addition to vision protection, diabetes awareness, establishment and maintenance of blood banks, hunger alleviation, environmental protection, prevention of childhood cancer, providing humanitarian assistance to those in distress.
