Decades of bus service dream come true: Farmers’ Association and State Tribal Protection Committee struggle achieve victory!

Lingasugur: A new history has been created today with the start of bus service for the first time in Devaragaddi village in Hunasagi taluk of Yadgir district, which had not seen transport connectivity even after seven decades of independence. As a result of the continuous struggle of the Farmers’ Association and the State Tribal Protection Committee, the long-standing demand of the villagers has been fulfilled.

The reward for the joint struggle:
Farmers’ Association President Gaddeppa Nagabenal, social activist STPC State President Amareshanna Kamanakeri, Raichur District Farmers’ Association President Shivaputragowda Nandihal and office bearers of the State Tribal Protection Committee had continuously demanded that transport facilities be provided to this village, which has a large number of ST (tribal) community people. The Transport Department, yielding to this organized struggle, has started bus service.

Officers and staff felicitated:
The villagers appreciated the work of Lingasugur Bus Depot Manager Prakash Doddamani and Staff Manager Mahrudrappa, who responded immediately and arranged buses in the interest of the education of the students. On this occasion, the driver Basappa and conductor Channabasava, who brought the bus to the village for the first time, were felicitated with great enthusiasm by the villagers.

Villagers celebrated: Village leaders Amaresh Poojary, Bhimanna Poojary, Sanganagouda Malipatil, farmers’ association leaders Hanuma Gowda, Sayabava Gowda, Basalingappa Nagarabetta, Manjunatha Chittapura, Hanumantha Vadigeri, Gaddeppa Kalluri, Lakkappa Bailagudda, Sangappa Janjigaddi, Siddappa, Sharanaya, Basanagouda, Basanavagouda Chittapura, Yamanura, Amarappa Gurikara, and other elders of the village celebrated by offering prayers to the bus and distributing sweets. With the bus facility, the girl students of the village no longer have to walk for kilometers.
