Best wishes to students for the new academic year: CLP leader D K ShivakumarGovernment school students are talented; they must not lose self-confidenceIPL: We are preparing to ensure Gujarat doesn’t take our match again

Date:

Bengaluru, June 01: Congress Legislature Party leader D K Shivakumar extended his wishes to school students as the new academic year commenced for government schools today.

Speaking to reporters at his Sadashivanagar residence, he said, “The new academic year begins today. On behalf of the government and personally, I wish my dear students all the best and success.”

“Students educated in the state have made invaluable contributions at the global level, and the entire world is witness to this. Our wealth of knowledge is attracting the whole world. Our students have studied in most of the world’s universities and achieved many accomplishments,” he said.

“We have precious human resources. That is why the world sees India through Karnataka. For this very reason, our elders established institutions like IIT, IIM, National Law School, ISRO, HAL, and other major institutions right here. Children must pursue their education with the aim of carrying these forward,” he added.

Must not lose self-confidence

“We are moving into the age of Artificial Intelligence, and education must be aligned with it. Our education policy will be announced in the coming days. Wishing you all success this year. Government school children must not lose self-confidence. Our government schools have good teachers. You are just as talented as children studying in private schools,” he said.

When asked about calls to provide saffron shawls as an alternative to the hijab, he said, “Whether it should be a saffron shawl or a national flag shawl — let us discuss that later.”

When asked about his Delhi visit, he said, “Siddaramaiah and I are going to Delhi.”

We will take steps to ensure Gujarat doesn’t take our match again
When asked about RCB’s victory in the IPL tournament, he said, “The IPL final was supposed to be held in Bengaluru. We had given permission for it. But the Gujarat people used their influence and took the match away from us. We are making the necessary preparations to ensure this doesn’t happen again — it will take some time. Our sports fans may have been wronged. The team representing our state played well and won. They have made all of us proud. On behalf of the people of Karnataka, I congratulate them.”
