Bengaluru, November 3:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has entered every sector, bringing new challenges to radar technology, while the increasing use of small drones in battlefields has made advanced radar systems crucial for future warfare, said DRDO Director General B.K. Das.
Speaking at a press conference held at the Sheraton Grand Hotel, Whitefield, Bengaluru, on the occasion of the announcement of the IEEE International Radar Conference 2027, Dr. B.K. Das said the conference will provide a global platform to showcase India’s achievements in radar technology, especially Bengaluru’s contribution, and highlight the capabilities of young scientists.
“Modern warfare is witnessing the growing use of small drones, and developing advanced radar technologies is essential to effectively counter future challenges,” he said.
He added that Artificial Intelligence is transforming various fields, and the radar sector is also undergoing significant changes due to AI-driven technologies. The integration of advanced technologies will play a key role in strengthening defence preparedness and security systems.

The prestigious IEEE Radar Conference 2027 will be held from May 1 to 6, 2027, at Sheraton Grand, Whitefield, Bengaluru. For the first time in Asia, the conference is being organised in India after earlier editions were held in the United States and Europe.
