Shivamogga: An incident has taken place on the road from Maralagodi to Mappane in Sagar taluk of Shivamogga district, where locals have planted paddy on the road due to the lack of repairs.
With the recent construction of the Sigandur bridge, it is the only way to connect Singadur to Jog Falls, and thousands of people, including locals and tourists, travel on this road every day.
The completely deteriorated road is like a muddy field, and the locals are facing a situation where they are crying for travel. The fed up villagers had requested that the road be repaired as soon as possible. It is said that 7-8 lakhs of the MLA’s grant has been misused in the past.
They have expressed their displeasure against the elected representatives and the concerned officials who have not responded to this.
Maralagodu locals have appealed to the MLAs and officials to repair the road. However, despite the road development work being done, the locals have expressed their anger in a different way by pounding rice on the road against the officials and elected representatives who have not responded.
