Bangalore garbage sweeper on rent: Businessman Kiran Majumdar Shah bats for the government

Date:

Bengaluru: Businessman Kiran Majumdar Shah, who has been criticizing the Karnataka government for the past few days regarding Bangalore infrastructure and Bangalore development, is now batting for the Karnataka government on the issue of Bangalore garbage sweeping mission.

Businessman Kiran Majumdar Shah has tweeted on behalf of the government on social media. Kiran reacted to the tweet made by the social media account YeThikKarkeDikhao.

See the performance of Karnataka Chief Minister C.M. Siddaramaiah from this social media account.

Your government wants to spend ₹ 613 crore per year on renting 46 road sweepers in Bangalore. But it costs about ₹ 2.5 crore to directly purchase the same machines from GeM.

Some questions you need to answer:

  • Who designed this absurd rental model of charging ₹ 2 crore per year per machine?
  • Why is 80% of the full purchase cost of the machine being rented annually?
  • Which contractors are being encouraged?
  • Why was outright purchase (cheaper and transparent) not chosen?
  • Who approved this tender proposal within GBA?
  • What work was done before public money was used in this way?
  • A series of questions have been asked as to why the taxpayers of Bengaluru should pay for this “rent-fraud” instead of real infrastructure.

Karnataka deserves answers, not excuses.

Businessman Kiran Majumdar Shah tweeted to this tweet. Don’t comment without understanding the agreement. The city needs to be mechanized. These are heavy-duty machines, not the flimsy vehicles you are referring to. The agreement is in the public domain. You are free to comment later. This issue has now become the subject of a pro- and anti-debate debate.
