NEET re-examination decision: Massive protest by students of Sri Umamaheshwari PU College, Lingasugur

Date:

Lingasugur: Students of Sri Umamaheshwari Pre-University College, Karadkal-Lingasugur, took to the streets and expressed their outrage over the decision of the Central Government and the NTA Board to cancel the NEET UG-2026 examination held on May 03 by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and to conduct re-examinations across the country.
Addressing the protest, the secretary of the institution, Vinayakumar Ganachari, said, “Students have faced the examination with great difficulty day and night. Just as a buffalo gets fever when an ox gets sick, re-examination across the country on the pretext of a question paper leak somewhere is condemnable. The government is playing with the future of students who are eagerly waiting for the results. Re-examinations should be conducted only where irregularities have occurred and strict action should be taken against the guilty.” Student Ankita said, “We are poor, we have spent lakhs of rupees and studied hard for two years. If the exam is canceled now, our hard work will be worthless.” On this occasion, college principal G.V. Suresh, NEET coordinator Sangayya Sindagimat, lecturers L. Sagarkumar, S.K. Johnny, N. Alekareddy, B. Saikirana, N. Srinivas, I.C. Mallikarjuna, M. Nagarjuna, Basanagowda, Tilimath, Gaddeppa, Raju, Mounesha Badigera and college staff and hundreds of students were present.
