Karnataka Tourism Expands UK Footprint with First-Ever Manchester Roadshow

Date:

Over 50 UK Travel Agents and Tour Operators Engage with Karnataka; Coastal Karnataka, Malnad and Coffee Tourism Showcased

Manchester, November 3:
Karnataka Tourism has expanded its international outreach in the United Kingdom by organising its first-ever roadshow in Manchester, aiming to position the State as a preferred destination for international travellers.

The roadshow witnessed participation from more than 50 travel agents and tour operators from the UK, focusing on strengthening direct business connections with the travel trade and encouraging the inclusion of Karnataka in new India travel itineraries.

A key highlight of the event was the promotion of Coastal Karnataka and the Malnad region, showcasing the State’s beaches, Western Ghats, plantation landscapes, nature-based experiences and unexplored destinations that offer strong potential for experiential tourism.

Karnataka’s coffee tourism experiences, especially from Chikkamagaluru and Kodagu, were prominently showcased, highlighting plantation stays, local cuisine, nature trails and slow-travel experiences for UK visitors seeking immersive holidays.

The roadshow also highlighted Karnataka’s diverse tourism offerings, including heritage tourism, wildlife, wellness, luxury tourism and business travel opportunities, presenting a wider portfolio beyond the State’s popular destinations.

Tourism Secretary Dr. Ram Prasath Manohar, KSTDC Managing Director Shivaprasad P.R., Jungle Lodges and Resorts Managing Director Sivaram Babu M., IFS, and Joint Director of Tourism Janardhan S.P. interacted with UK travel industry representatives and presented Karnataka’s tourism potential.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ram Prasath Manohar said,
“Under the leadership of Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and the guidance of Energy and Tourism Minister K.J. George, Karnataka’s international tourism outreach is being strengthened. Manchester is an important emerging market for Karnataka. Our objective is not just to create destination awareness but to convert trade interest into actual Karnataka travel itineraries and visitor arrivals. Coastal Karnataka, Malnad and our coffee-country experiences have immense potential among UK travellers looking for nature, culture and immersive experiences.”

Consul General of India in Manchester Vishakha Yaduvanshi attended the roadshow and extended support to Karnataka Tourism’s UK outreach initiatives.

The Manchester engagement is part of Karnataka Tourism’s broader UK campaign, which will continue through World Travel Market London 2026 and a dedicated roadshow in Birmingham, further strengthening Karnataka’s presence in the international tourism market.
