Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao provided clear information to the House on heart attacks

In the wake of the increase in sudden heart attacks, Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao said that a tele ECG system will be set up in all taluk hospitals and community health centers in the state. Responding to a question from Council member Dhananjay Sarji during the Question and Answer Session of the Legislative Council today, the Minister said that the tele ECG system in community health centers will facilitate people to get checked at the local level.

Necessary guidance from specialists will be provided through tele ECG. There is an opportunity to prevent sudden heart attacks, and more attention needs to be paid to early detection. Tele-ECG will be helpful in this regard. Under the Puneeth Rajkumar Hridaya Jyoti Yojana, treatment is being provided in 86 government hospitals in the state on a hub-and-spoke model to prevent sudden heart attacks. The Hridaya Jyoti Yojana has been successful in saving thousands of lives today. Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao told the House that steps are being taken to extend the Hridaya Jyoti Yojana to all taluk hospitals and community health centers in the state.

Responding to the request of Councilor Dhananjay Sarji in the House to provide Tenecteplase injection, which is helpful in preventing sudden heart attacks, in all hospitals, Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao said that Tenecteplase injection worth Rs. 25,000 is already being provided free of cost under the Puneeth Rajkumar Hridaya Jyoti Yojana. He replied that since the Hriday Jyothi scheme will be extended to all taluk hospitals and community health centers, Tenecteplase injection will also be available free of cost under the scheme.

Cath labs for treating cardiovascular diseases will be opened in Wenlock Hospital in Mangalore, C.V. Raman Nagar Hospital in Bengaluru and Hospet Hospital. Early detection and treatment are important to prevent heart attacks. In this regard, a scheme has been launched in all districts of the state to conduct blood pressure and diabetes screening for people above 30 years of age under the Home Health Scheme and provide free medicines. Blood pressure and diabetes are the root causes of diseases like heart attack, stroke, and kidney failure. When these are treated at the right time, lives can be saved from dangers like heart attack. In this regard, screening for 14 diseases along with blood pressure and diabetes has been taken up under the Home Health Scheme, which will play a significant role in protecting the health of people in rural areas, Minister Dinesh Gundurao said at the same time.
