Bengaluru: Karnataka’s Large and Medium Industries Minister M.B. Patil, who is leading a delegation to the Netherlands to attract industrial investments to the State, on Friday, held discussions with global companies Bayer, Philips and Royal Swinkels, seeking to deepen their investment and manufacturing presence in Karnataka,
During the meeting with Bayer, a Germany-headquartered global life-sciences company operating across Crop Science, Pharmaceuticals and Consumer Health, discussions focused on areas of potential expansion and interest in India and Karnataka. Bayer has a significant R&D and innovation presence in Bengaluru,
“With Philips, the discussions centred on the company’s strong healthcare technology and innovation footprint in Karnataka. The company highlighted how Bengaluru is anchoring Philips’ global push in healthcare AI, supported by its largest innovation hub globally. Philips also reiterated the strategic importance of Karnataka within its India and global innovation footprint” Patil said. The Karnataka delegation encouraged Philips to explore establishing manufacturing operations in the State, building on its strong existing R&D and innovation presence, he added.
Royal Swinkels, an independent Dutch family-owned brewing and malting company with more than 300 years of heritage, expressed interest in exploring investment opportunities in India and potential manufacturing opportunities in Karnataka. The Karnataka delegation encouraged Royal Swinkels to consider establishing manufacturing operations in the State and invited the company to visit Karnataka to take the discussions forward.
